Supporting SAM

Volunteers

Volunteers fill flexible weekend and weekday shifts in the Visitor Services, Education, and Exhibitions departments at the Susquehanna Art Museum. Volunteers are an integral part of the Museum’s operation, and volunteering can be applied to internships, job shadowing, and community service hours.

Artists

Exhibition Proposal Policy

The Susquehanna Art Museum welcomes collaborative work with artists, curators, art historians, art educators, etc. As a non-collecting museum, all exhibitions at SAM are part of a planned program of rotating curated exhibitions and traveling shows. All exhibitions are curated to follow the education-focused mission of the museum, using the Exhibitions Policy. SAM accepts exhibition proposals throughout the year.

Contact BCarrow@SusquehannaArtMuseum.org with any questions about the submission process.

Consider the rewards of sharing your talents with kids or adults in an educational setting! Our community needs your unique viewpoint, your mastery of technique, and your expressive voice. It allows you to reflect on your own art practices and rediscover them through the eyes of your students.

The goal of experiential programs at SAM is to provide a deeper understanding of artwork and artists which SAM features in any of our rotating exhibitions. As artists and educators, we serve as invaluable resources for visitors who are looking for connections between art and their lives. We can empower our community family members with new ways for appreciating art and developing personal aesthetics.

Artist Resource

Lawyers for the Arts pairs qualifying artists and arts organizations of limited means with pro bono attorneys.  Go to www.DCBA-PA.org or contact Sandy Ballard (232-7536 ext 7 or Sandy@DCBA-PA.org) for more information.
