Experimental Screen-Printing Workshop

In this intergenerational workshop, participants will have the opportunity to experiment with non-traditional methods of screen-printing to create a work of art. Artist Benjamin Lee Sperry, whose work is featured in Shifting Forms: 5 Decades of Abstraction, will be leading the group and discussing his techniques of utilizing hand-stretched screens and household objects to achieve incidental, abstract marks.
 

 

This workshop is designed for ages 15 and up.

About the instructor:

Benjamin Lee Sperry is an interdisciplinary artist whose work incorporates painting, printmaking and photography as well as aspects of installation and bookmaking. He was born in 1986 in central Pennsylvania, and received his BFA in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of Visual Arts in New York and his MFA in Painting and Printmaking from University of Delaware. He currently teaches at Lincoln University and Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
