Four Pillars: Mount Gretna Artist Residency

Four Pillars: Mount Gretna Artist Residency features paintings made by former residents of the Mount Gretna School of Art’s residency program. They reflect the artist’s time spent in the community and natural surroundings of the area.

Mount Gretna School of Art (MGSoA) was founded as a residential summer painting program for undergraduate and graduate-level students, that is both excellent in its educational offerings and affordable for all. The school focuses on providing transformative opportunities to foster young artists’ development from the time they are students and into their emerging careers.

In 2017, MGSoA began offering the Four Pillars Artist Residency, which welcomes four working artists each summer. While the residency is open to all working artists, it was created with the special purpose of giving MGSoA alumni a chance to reconnect with the area after completing the school’s Summer Intensive Program. This month-long artist residency provides opportunities for artists to advance their early careers and connect with new audiences.
